Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start a workout?

From the Today tab, tap "Start Workout" to begin logging exercises. You can either follow a scheduled program workout or create a freestyle session.

How do I add a custom exercise?

Go to the Exercises tab and tap the + button in the top right corner. Fill in the exercise details including name, muscle groups, and equipment.

How does iCloud sync work?

When enabled, your workout data automatically syncs across all your Apple devices signed into the same iCloud account. Go to Settings within the app to enable or disable sync.

Why isn't my data syncing?

Make sure you're signed into iCloud on your device (Settings -> Apple ID -> iCloud) and that iCloud sync is enabled in the Gains Vault settings. Both devices need an internet connection for initial sync.

How is my 1RM calculated?

Gains Vault uses the Brzycki formula to estimate your one-rep max based on the weight and reps you've logged. You can also manually set a known 1RM for any exercise.

What do the recovery colors mean?

Green means fully recovered and ready to train. Yellow indicates partial recovery. Red means the muscle group was recently trained and needs more rest.

How do I delete a workout?

Go to the Calendar tab, find the workout you want to delete, tap on it to view details, then tap the delete option.

Can I export my data?

Currently, data export is not available. Your data is stored locally and in iCloud. We're considering adding export features in a future update.

How do I delete all my data?

To delete all local data, delete the app from your device. To also remove iCloud data, go to iOS Settings -> Apple ID -> iCloud -> Manage Storage -> Gains Vault -> Delete Data.
